Mae and Her Tulips-2006

Surprisingly, Mae and Her Tulips became a favourite among many when it first appeared in the 2007 esh Calendar (May). This is a positive/negative study at it's best... and the illustration commands the feel one gets when the sun is higher in the sky and the ground becomes awash in floral colour. Of course there is no colour in the drawing, but you do see it, don't you? Yup, Mae was included in the Speakeasy Illustration Show... Gladstone Hotel... Toronto...

Boat in the Grass-2004

Ever feel like you are a boat in the grass waiting to be used as intended? Welcome to my life. Introduced in the 2005 esh Calendar (September), this illustration found itself a part of the 2008 Speakeasy Illustration Show at the Gladstone Hotel, Toronto.

Girl with Baby on Chair-2004

These subjects are the essence of my niece and nephew drawn for the 2005 esh Calendar (November). Tara now has longer hair and Oscar has a youth black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is considered a dangerous weapon. This illustration was also featured at the 2008 Speakeasy Illustration Show held at the Gladstone Hotel, Toronto Ontario.

Angela Uses Her Light on a Starry Night 2004/2008

Originally drawn for the 2005 esh Calendar (July), Angela depicts us all trying to figure out the wonderful vastness of the universe armed only with the limits of our intelligence... or something like that. The subject is loosely based on Angela Cartwright who played Penny Robinson on one of my favourite 60's TV show Lost in Space... oh and she's also based on my wife Amy... Angela was also modified and featured at the 2008 Speakeasy Illustration Show held in September at the Gladstone Hotel, Toronto Ontario.
